The Olsen Road to Klickitat River stretch of Little Klickitat River is 9.7 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Washington scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater paddling     here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. The Olsen Road to Klickitat River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Don't leave Little Klickitat River without going to Horsethief Lake State Park, and a glorious place like Maryhill State Park is too delightful to leave out. This is a really good river. All through the summertime at Little Klickitat River temperatures are mostly in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's.
