CLASS II-III(IV)     6.8 miles
  The put-in location is a short drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch of Little Washougal River is 6.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(IV) section. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers
    here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The scenic beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Little Washougal River will make you feel great. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Boulder Creek  
to Washougal River section is one of them. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river.

Briefly about the general area:
This is a popular location for folks from Washougal, and you certainly ought to go to Lewis and Clark State Park since you're here. So many exciting things in the Northern Cascade Range, just tremendous. Nothing beats kicking back at Sundial Beach, and Dabney State Park is both delightful and gorgeous. This river is always fun. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Little Washougal River reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's.
