If you're coming from Wenatchee it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Near Lost River you locate the Driveway Butte Trail which is a tremendous
hiking trail. Okanogan National Forest is a great place to stop at, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Monument Creek Trail. This is such a fun river. Lost River is a location that is rather dry generally.
During the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. All through the warm months here at Lost River, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
