  If you're coming from Wenatchee it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Drake Creek to Methow River confluence section is one of them. You can enjoy
    this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There's camping available near Lost River. You might be into whitewater
rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Lost River in Washington is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The  
natural beauty of Okanogan County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.

Briefly about the general area:
Near Lost River you locate the Driveway Butte Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Okanogan National Forest is a great place to stop at, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Monument Creek Trail. This is such a fun river. Lost River is a location that is rather dry generally. During the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. All through the warm months here at Lost River, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
