Washington whitewater, Mad River

Chelan county, to Entiat River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III-IV     3.5 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This section of Mad River is 3.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right
nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The scenic beauty of Chelan County and the cool fresh water make the trip
here worthwhile. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The to Entiat River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Mad River. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river.
