This stretch of McCoy Creek in Lewis County is 7.8 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming     back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the milepost 8 to Yellowjacket Creek stretch is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for   beginners.
