Washington whitewater, Methow River Okanogan county, River Bend Campground to Carlton section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II(III)     54 miles   The wonderful Okanogan County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The starting location is a short drive from Wenatchee, if you're not familiar with the area there's     a road map further down the page. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Now this is a pretty long section, so it looks like you will be camping out. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This stretch of Methow River is 54 miles long and it is classified as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too   many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Methow River is right by the Driveway Butte Trail; Okanogan National Forest is worth a visit. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. Everybody loves Pearrygin Lake State Park. High temperatures at Methow River during the warm months are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 20's, and night lows during the winter for Methow River tend to be in the 10's.
