The Carlton to McFarland Creek access section of Methow River in Washington is 9.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Wenatchee, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and just hanging out with     mother nature have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Carlton to McFarland Creek access section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The   beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Bluff Lake Trail, and a spree to Pearrygin Lake State Park is a glorious idea. Having a glorious time in the Northern Cascade Range is simple. People from Carlton love to come to Methow River, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Echo Valley. This river has it all. A visit to Methow River wouldn’t be complete without a tour to close by Alta Lake State Park. Methow River gets very little rain.
