Washington whitewater, Nason Creek Merritt to Coles Corner section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     4 miles   This section of Nason Creek in Washington is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of -blank- County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here     are not as easy as elsewhere. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The Merritt to Coles Corner section is one of a few   paddling sections in this river system. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: There's a forest here at Nason Creek called Leavenworth Ranger District; on a good day you can take a hike along the Snow Lakes Trail. So much fun stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range, not enough time. Nason Creek is in the neighborhood of Lake Wenatchee State Park which is a delightful spot, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Icicle Trail.
