CLASS II     14 miles
  The beautiful scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The starting location is a short drive from Centralia, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners.
    This section of Nisqually River is 14 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because
these hotels fill up quick. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river  
for a while are great reasons to come. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
There are plenty of people from Roy here at Nisqually River. Through the summertime months at Nisqually River temperatures are mostly in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. During the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Nisqually River are in the 30's. Nisqually River sees pretty high levels of precipitation. The wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest.
