  The put-in location is a short drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Nooksack River - North Fork in Whatcom County is 4.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV+ section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that lots of
    rivers here are not for beginners. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. There are campgrounds
quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The natural beauty of Whatcom County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. On this section you do get some distance, it's good  
length for a morning trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.

Briefly about the general area:
A fine forest in close proximity to Nooksack River - North Fork is Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest; what would a site like Nooksack River - North Fork be without out of the ordinary nearby traits like Horseshoe Bend. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Cascade Range. You'll meet a lot of folks from Deming here. At Nooksack River - North Fork during the summertime months highs are in the 70's, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, usually in the 50's.
