If you're coming from Hood River it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Ohanepecosh Campground to La Wis Wis Campground section of Ohanepecosh
River is 4.7 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of Lewis County and
the cool fresh water will make you feel great. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. A good workout and spending some quality
