The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ellensburg, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. No matter     if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Highway 97 culvert to Wenatchee River stretch of Peshastin Creek is 8.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. For   all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: A great site to take a look at next to Peshastin Creek is Pendleton Canyon; if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Peshastin. Good hiking is available along the Snow Lakes Trail; there's nice hiking along the Red Hill Trail. This river is a wonderful place to visit. High temperatures at Peshastin Creek through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Peshastin Creek tend to be in the 10's.
