Washington whitewater, Puyallup River

Pierce county, Niesson Creek to Electron section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV+     9 miles
The Niesson Creek to Electron section of Puyallup River is 9 miles long and is a class IV+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This is a pretty decent length
section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The put-in location is a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds
nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in
themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
