  The scenic beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. If you're coming from Hood River it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road
    map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have
to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Snaggletooth Creek to Lewis River stretch is one of them. This stretch is mid length,  
suitable for an afternoon trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. The Snaggletooth Creek to Lewis River stretch of Quartz Creek in Washington is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater.

Briefly about the general area:
When you're here at Quartz Creek it's always fun to visit Gifford Pinchot National Forest; Quartz Creek is right by the Wildcat Trail. All year is a great time in the Northern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Take a hike on the Table Mountain Trail. High temperatures at Quartz Creek throughout the warm days of summer are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's.
