  The Queets Campground to Hartzell Launch stretch of Queets River in Jefferson County is 9.3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The wonderful Jefferson County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The starting location is a short drive from Port Angeles, if you're
    not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging
than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There's camping available near Queets River. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Queets Campground to Hartzell Launch section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. When you're paddling down a Olympic Mountains river like this one you  
always get great scenery along the way too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

Briefly about the general area:
At Queets River you always meet someone from Amanda Park, and you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Bogachiel-Hoh Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Olympic Mountains. Going for a hike along the Bogachiel Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. A good deal of precipitation falls at Queets River. For the duration of the month of December you get the most rain around here, and August on the other hand is the driest.
