The scenic beauty of Jefferson County and the water     flowing gracefully down Quinault River - North Fork beats anything. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This stretch of Quinault River - North Fork is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. For all you   camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Olympic National Forest is a tremendous site, and close by you come across the Skyline Trail which is a fine hiking trail. Just can't get enough of the Olympic Mountains. Going for a hike on the Elwha River Trail is always a wonderful adventure. The high level of precipitation makes Quinault River - North Fork a pretty wet location.
