The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. The North Fork to Nile Road Bridge stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. |
The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. For all you camping people
| there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. and during the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the wintertime highs are generally in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Rattlesnake Creek - Naches Tributary temperatures fall to the 20's.
