I have never kayaked, but the 100'+ deep gorge this creek goes through contains a series of waterfalls in a twisting channel. Has anyone ever attempted it and lived? Says john meenk

it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wonderful Washington scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The Mt. Baker
| Wilderness Area to confluence with Nooksack River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. | |

And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but
if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
Briefly about the general area: Head up to Mt.Baker and strap some skis to your feet. Ruth Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation.
November is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Through the months of summer at Ruth Creek temperatures are usually in the 70's.
