Washington whitewater, Sand Hollow Creek

Grant county, Highway 26 mile 2 to Columbia River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III-IV     1.5 miles
The nature scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're coming from Wenatchee it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the
page with more info on that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch
is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. The Highway 26 mile 2 to Columbia River section of Sand Hollow Creek in Washington is 1.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling sections
and the Highway 26 mile 2 to Columbia River section is one of them. There's camping available near Sand Hollow Creek. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The wild scenery of the Wenatchee Mountains is great.
