The starting location is a short drive from Spokane, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Washington scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Log Flume interpretive site to Inchelium Road section of Sherman Creek is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. |
A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that. The campgrounds
| here at Sherman Creek are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Log Flume interpretive site to Inchelium Road section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Carson Beach. Do
pay a visit to Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area if you're here at Sherman Creek. Places like Colville National Forest are good to check out. For the duration of the summer months here at Sherman Creek, high temperatures
generally get into the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Sherman Creek drop into the 10's.
