The put-in location is a short drive from Longview-Kelso, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The Calamity Creek to Yale Reservoir stretch of Siouxon Creek in Washington is 12 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Reservoir section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Briefly
about the general area: Hiking along the Horseshoe Ridge Trail is tremendous fun, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Cougar. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up
to the Northern Cascade Range. Going for a hike along the Siouxon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Siouxon Creek sees pretty high levels of rain.
