  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Beckler River to bridge above Baring section of Skykomish River - South Fork in Washington is 9.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream
     make the trip here worthwhile. The campgrounds here at Skykomish River - South Fork are pretty good. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away
from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon  
trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.

People from Baring love to come to Skykomish River - South Fork; Stevens Pass is a glorious local ski area. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Skykomish River - South Fork is right by the Middle Fork Trail. Skykomish River - South Fork sees pretty high levels of rainfall.
