The starting location is a short drive from Port Angeles, as you can see on the road map further down. The Klahowya Campground to Bear Creek stretch of Sol Duc River in Clallam County is 7.5 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Klahowya Campground to Bear Creek section is just one of them. enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
Briefly about the general area: There is a perfect hiking trail in the vicinity
of Sol Duc River called the Rugged Ridge Trail, and you'll meet a lot of people from Beaver here. This site, the Olympic Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting things. Near Sol Duc River you find the Pass Trail which is
a good hiking trail. Bogachiel State Park is a delightful spot to stop at. Lots of rain falls at Sol Duc River. For the duration of the month of November you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July.
