  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This stretch of Sol Duc River - North Fork in Clallam County is 5.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some good exercise and a chance
    to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The campgrounds
here at Sol Duc River - North Fork are pretty good. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Port Angeles it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling  
rivers. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip.

Briefly about the general area:
Take a hike on the Mink Lake Trail; you'll perhaps meet some people from Port Angeles here. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is plentiful here in the Olympic Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Aurora Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sol Duc River - North Fork a wet place. The month with most of the rain is November; the driest month is July. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Sol Duc River - North Fork. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's.
