The East Fork to Spiketon Road section of South Praire Creek in Pierce County is 6.6 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this     state are less manageable. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The put-in is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the East Fork to Spiketon Road stretch is one of them. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're   all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Briefly about the general area: Near South Praire Creek you stumble on the Summit Lake Trail which is a perfect hiking trail; lots of folks from Wilkeson come here. You just should fancy the Northern Cascade Range. The Paul Peak Trail is a perfect hiking trail in the neighborhood of South Praire Creek, and don't leave without visiting Flaming Geyser State Park. At this river you will always have a good time.
