CLASS II(IV)     10 miles
  This stretch of Stehekin River in Chelan County is 10 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(IV) section. The nature scenery of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Stehekin River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Not too many hotels
    nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in is not too far from Wenatchee, please print out a copy of the road map further down the
page so you won’t get lost. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are some good sections to paddle in this river  
system, the Agnes Creek to Lake Chelan section is one of them. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.

Briefly about the general area:
There's glorious hiking along the Rainbow Lake Trail; hiking is a popular thing to do around Stehekin River; Park Creek Trail is a perfect local trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. During the warm months highs here at Stehekin River get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Stehekin River dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.
