  The nature scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in is not too far from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, as you can see on the road map further down. The Granite Falls to Jordan stretch of Stillaguamish River - South Fork is 9.1 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. You can pitch
    a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are plenty of other stretches in this river
system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so you'd better  
keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners.
