The starting location is a reasonable drive from Spokane, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance |
because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Mill Pond to North Fork Sullivan stretch is one of them. This is an extremely short stretch so it's not like you're gonna
| spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The natural beauty of Pend Oreille County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. Briefly about the general area: Sullivan River is a place with many visitors from Metaline Falls, and splendid hiking is available
along the Terry Trail. Not much precipitation falls here at Sullivan River. Through December this area sees the most snow, and the driest of the months is September. High temperatures at Sullivan River during the warmest
time of the year are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are commonly in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Sullivan River tend to be in the 10's.
