The nature scenery of -blank- County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater     rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Powerhouse to Fishing Access section is one of them. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Sultan River are pretty good. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so   you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: If you're visiting Sultan River from Sultan, you won't be the only one. A trip to Wallace Falls State Park when you're here at Sultan River is a good idea. Sultan River mostly gets a good deal of rain. December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Throughout the warm months here at Sultan River, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
