Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The North Fork Teanaway to East Masterson Road stretch of Teanaway River in Kittitas County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section     by American Whitewater. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The starting   location is a reasonable drive from Ellensburg, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: While you're here at Teanaway River you can take a hike along the Miller Peak Trail, and there are plenty of folks from Cle Elum here. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Cascade Range. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the County Line Trail. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Teanaway River get into the 60's.
