Washington whitewater, Tilton River

Lewis county, Bremer to Ike Kinswa State Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III-IV     11 miles
The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The Bremer to Ike Kinswa State Park section of Tilton River is 11 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Centralia it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road
map further down the page with more info on that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more.
The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. The wonderful Washington scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Tilton River will make you feel great. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area
has a large number of paddling places. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.

Briefly about the general area:
Bear Canyon is a good spot to stop by close to Tilton River, and folks from Mossyrock love to come here. That right there is a heap of cool things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Ike Kinswa State Park is both tremendous and charming, and it's next to Tilton River. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Tilton River temperatures are regularly in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
