  The nature scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The starting point is not too far from Wenatchee, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further
    down the page. The Lake Wenatchee State Park to Tumwater Campground stretch of Wenatchee River in Chelan County is 16.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. There aren’t any
hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery.  
And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Lake Wenatchee State Park to Tumwater Campground section is just one of many.

Briefly about the general area:
Go for a hike on the Icicle Trail, and Lake Wenatchee State Park is a charming place any time of year. Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Don't leave Wenatchee River without first going for a hike along the Snow Lakes Trail.
