CLASS V     7.5 miles
  This stretch of Wenatchee River in Washington is 7.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The put-in location is a short drive from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Chelan County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting
    here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily
run it on an afternoon. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Wenatchee River are pretty good. The Tumwater Campground to Leavenworth stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

River is a place with many visitors from Leavenworth. Lake Wenatchee State Park is a pleasant place to check out, and there's great hiking along the Snow Lakes Trail. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. You need to stop at Castle Rock if you're here at Wenatchee River; the Icicle Trail offers hiking at its best. The amount of precipitation that falls at Wenatchee River is close to the national average. The month with most of the snow is January while July is regularly the driest month. At Wenatchee River all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's.
