The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The nature scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Buckley to Auburn section of White River is 12.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. The starting point |
is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Getting some good
| exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

if you're visiting from Buckley, you won't be the only one. Nolte State Park is both magnificent and wonderful, and it's near White River. For the period of the summer at White River temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's;
through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to White River. White River is a good location of normal precipitation. The month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest.
