Washington whitewater, White Salmon River Klickitat county, Green Truss Bridge to BZ Corners section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS V     4.9 miles   This section of White Salmon River is 4.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Hood River, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The scenic beauty of Klickitat County and     the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. The river winds through the Northern Cascade   Range and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: Koberg Beach State Park is a fine spot to stretch your legs a bit; there's delightful hiking along the Little Baldy Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Cascade Range. Koberg Beach is in close proximity to White Salmon River if you're in a beach type of mood, and if you wish for a little side tour, try Bear Valley. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Don't leave White Salmon River without first going for a hike along the Little White Salmon Trail. The smiling people of Trout Lake like to hang out nearby.
