The wonderful Washington scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and a     chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Buck Creek to Columbia River section is just one of many. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are campgrounds quite near the river   where you can camp. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Briefly about the general area: Koberg Beach State Park is a nice site to go if you're at White Salmon River; nothing beats kicking back at Koberg Beach. Yeah, come up here to the Central Cascade Range for a good time. Don't leave White Salmon River without stopping by Seneca Fouts Memorial State Park; White Salmon River is right by the Little Baldy Trail. This river is so good. If you're here, you might as well visit Hood River Valley, and lots of folks from Underwood come here.
