The Blackwater Falls to North Fork Confluence section of Blackwater River in Tucker County is 2.4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations     in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile.   There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Blackwater Falls is a great local attraction, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Lindy Run Trail. What would winter be without some skiing at Canaan Valley, and there are plenty of people from Thomas here at Blackwater River. At this river you will always have a good time. The Plantation Trail is a delightful hiking trail near Blackwater River; don't leave without going to Blackwater Falls State Park. The warmest time of the year at Blackwater River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's.
