This stretch of Buckhannon River is 4.7 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more     forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The natural beauty of West Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Audra State Park is a splendid place to go if you're at Buckhannon   River; there are plenty of people from Tallmansville here at Buckhannon River. Don't leave Buckhannon River without popping by Holly River State Park; on a good day you can take a hike along the Reverie Trail. This river is so good. While you're here at Buckhannon River you can take a hike along the Wilderness Trail. Summer at Buckhannon River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Buckhannon River dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
