Says JB The Bull Run to Cheat River stretch of Bull Run in Preston County is 2.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater     a class V+ section of whitewater. If you're coming from Morgantown it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Preston County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Bull   Run to Cheat River section is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The campgrounds here at Bull Run are pretty good. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
