The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch of Clay Run is 0.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. Briefly about the general area: No need to travel far to stop   by interesting stuff like Coopers Rock, and Clay Run is near Birch Hollow which is certainly worth a visit. You're sure to bump into some fine people from Dellslow here. Philip Mascioli Spring is always fun to check out, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Clay Run; Mile Trail is a good local trail. Clay Run gets a normal amount of annual precipitation. The month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. Through the summertime months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Clay Run while night lows are generally in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Clay Run overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
