  The nature scenery of Monongalia County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. The starting point is not too far from Morgantown, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. And of course, there are campgrounds
    nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your
paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch of Clay Run is 0.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks.

by interesting stuff like Coopers Rock, and Clay Run is near Birch Hollow which is certainly worth a visit. You're sure to bump into some fine people from Dellslow here. Philip Mascioli Spring is always fun to check out, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Clay Run; Mile Trail is a good local trail. Clay Run gets a normal amount of annual precipitation. The month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. Through the summertime months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Clay Run while night lows are generally in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Clay Run overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
