You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations   in advance you're all set. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. If the weather is great here at Gauley River, you can go for a hike along the Harris Siding Trail. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Gauley River overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's.
