  If you're coming from Clarksburg it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Pocahontas County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. This stretch of Greenbrier River in West Virginia is 7.7 miles long and is according
    to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The campgrounds here at Greenbrier River are pretty good. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whether you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Durbin to Hosterman stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

If you like skiing, you're in luck; Snowshoe is near Greenbrier
 
River. When you're here at Greenbrier River it's always fun to visit Cass Railroad State Park; going for a hike on the Span Oak Trail is always a magnificent adventure. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. Monongahela National Forest is a great location to stretch your legs a bit, and nearby you discover the Little Mountain Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Greenbrier River is not far at all from Arbovale. At Greenbrier River throughout the summer months highs are in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Greenbrier River.
