  If you're coming from Oak Hill it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful scenery of Summers County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The Willowood bridge to Bellepoint stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a
    bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This stretch has
has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Willowood bridge to Bellepoint stretch of Greenbrier River in Summers County is 5.5 miles long and is a class I-II(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average,  
so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Greenbrier River you'll in all probability meet some people from Talcott, and Sawyer Hollow is another magnificent site to visit close by. Bluestone State Park is a nice site to stretch your legs a bit. Greenbrier River ordinarily gets lots of precipitation. Most of the rain falls through July, and February on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Greenbrier River through the summertime months are in the 80's.
