The average West Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers     in this state are suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The to New River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This stretch of Keeney's Creek in Fayette County is 0.75 miles long and has been rated as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This stretch is very   short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: All our national parks are nice sites to stop at, and Bluestone National Scenic River is no exception. Dudleys Dip Rapids is a perfect local attraction; spots like Babcock State Park are tremendous to stop by. This river has it all. While you're here at Keeney's Creek you can take a hike along the Carnifex Trail; Hawks Nest State Park is a good spot to pop by. On a great day at Keeney's Creek you can take a hike along the Way Back Trail, and do put some time aside to spend at Keeneys Rapids if you're here at Keeney's Creek.
