This section of Laurel Creek - Tygart Tributary is 5.8 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system,     there are a few others too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The campgrounds here at Laurel Creek - Tygart Tributary are pretty good. Briefly   about the general area: Moats Hollow is a good site to spend some time at, and a glorious spot like Audra State Park is too perfect to leave out. Here at Laurel Creek - Tygart Tributary you'll perhaps meet some people from Moatsville, and a tour here wouldn’t be complete without a spree to close by Tygart Lake State Park.
