  The CR 2 bridge to confluence of Big Sandy Creek stretch of Laurel Run in West Virginia is 5.2 miles long and is a class II-III(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Morgantown. The nature scenery of West Virginia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The
    CR 2 bridge to confluence of Big Sandy Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Laurel Run. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of
spots for that. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.

Trail offers hiking at its best, and Ward Thompson Spring is a wonderful place to take a look at while you're at Laurel Run. Here at Laurel Run there are plenty of folks from Bruceton Mills; there's great hiking along the Mile Trail. This river has so much to offer. From a rainfall point of view Laurel Run is a rather common spot. Of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. During the warmest time of the year at Laurel Run highs are typically in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for Laurel Run.
