The Confluence of right fork to Confluence of Elk River stretch of Leatherwood Creek in Clay County is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The wonderful Clay County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. | |

Trail. Leatherwood Creek is a rather wet place mostly with much rain. The month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
