  The Forks of creek to Bergoo stretch of Leatherwood Creek is 3.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The natural beauty of Webster County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. This river system has a
    few good paddling stretches and the Forks of creek to Bergoo section is one of them. The put-in location is a short drive from Clarksburg, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds quite near the
river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Leatherwood Creek is a place with many visitors from Bergoo; you can have a great hiking adventure along the County Line Trail. A visit to Holly River State Park when you're here at Leatherwood Creek is never a bad idea; since you're here you can take a hike along the Turkey Mountain Trail. This river is so perfect. The high level of precipitation makes Leatherwood Creek a pretty wet place. During the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Leatherwood Creek, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
