West Virginia whitewater, Little Birch River Braxton county, US 19 to confluence of Birch River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     3.6 miles   This stretch of Little Birch River is 3.6 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Oak Hill it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nature scenery of Braxton County and the sparkling     of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside West Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Briefly about the general area: During your tour to Little Birch River you'll meet   some folks from Birch River for sure. Little Birch River sees pretty high levels of rainfall. The month with most of the rain is July, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Little Birch River during the summertime months are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's.
