This stretch of Madams Creek in West Virginia is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III+(IV) section. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the water flowing gracefully down Madams Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels     are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The put-in is not too far from Beckley, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly   about the general area: Winterplace has fine slopes and a friendly staff, and people from Lindside love to come here. Little Beaver State Park is both pleasant and picturesque, and it's near Madams Creek; a short trip to Alum Spring is always worthwhile. This river is so wonderful. Bluestone State Park is a perfect location to take a look at on a delightful day. At Madams Creek through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Madams Creek.
